Sun Young "Sunny" Hwang

Sun Young Hwang studied ballet at Sejong University in South Korea. She studied the Vaganova Method of classical ballet at the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet, as well as contemporary ballet, Korean traditional dance, Janggu drumming, and modern dance. She is also certified to teach Russian Vaganova Method ballet technique.

She serves as a Director of Dance with the Korea Ballet Association.

She has been living in the United States since 2015. Since 2018, she has introduced Korean dance internationally in 2018, 2024, 2025, and 2026. From 2017 to 2026, she choreographed Korean contemporary ballet with Order Steps Company. She has also been teaching ballet workshops at Chun University from 2022 to 2026. She is married to Jay and has one child, Michael, and a dog named Gracie.
