Tucker is an original member of the Broadway production of Disney’s The Lion King, directed by Julie Taymor and choreographed by Garth Fagan. Tucker continues her work with young artists through master classes, workshops, and dance festivals. Class Descriptions

Odissi Classical Indian Dance

Odissi is an Eastern Indian art form known for its circular and curvilinear geometry. This class will focus on isolation (ribcage, neck, eyes, heel, toe), opposition (between footwork and torso movement), and whole-body coordination. Emphasis on hand-eye coordination in particular activating the sensate alongside the musculoskeletal. We will dance barefoot.

Modern, Horton Technique

The Horton Technique, developed by Lester Horton, is a Modern Dance technique that incorporates folk dance, gestures, and isolations designed to fortify, stretch, and strengthen the body. Created with a knowledge of human anatomy, the technique emphasizes a whole body, an anatomical approach designed to correct physical faults while enhancing the dancer's widest range of motion.

Precision Jazz

Each class will consist of a full warm-up in the center, progressions across the floor, and choreography/combinations that focus on clarity of details and precision of unison movements. Bring flat shoes and character shoes, no tap shoes are required. Please wear all-black dance attire. Open to dancers 14 and up.

Cost for the Full Program: $300
Cost for only Precision Jazz Classes (must commit to all 5 days): $200
