Amy Claugus
Originally from NYC, Amy began her ballet training with Parsla Vintere and continued on scholarship at the Feld Ballet School in NYC. She is a graduate of the Juilliard School under the direction of Ben Harkarvy and La Guardia HS of the Performing Arts. As a freelance artist, she has performed in NY, across the country, Canada and in Europe. She has danced ballets by Elliot Feld, Elisa King, Penny Frank, Shapiro and Smith, Ben Harkarvy, Jiri Kylian, Alvin Ailey, Anthony Tudor, Frances Patrelle, Stanton Welch, Diane Coburn Bruning among others. A founding member and rehearsal director for Chamber Dance Project and founding member of Movement Migration. Amy has called Charlotte home for 16 years. She continues, with gratitude, being called back to dance with Movement Migration.
When not in rehearsals or on tour with Movement Migration, Amy can be found helping people with their real estate needs. Working for Coldwell Banker, Amy enjoys helping people find their next home sweet home, or to sell their current residence to begin their next chapter in life. Real Estate is its own “dance” from beginning to end, and I am happy to help others “take the leap.” Connect with her on Facebook.
You will still find her in a ballet class in Charlotte or her home city of New York as much as possible or on her yoga mat! She is looking forward to the next gathering of the company to create another work with a voice that is uniquely Movement Migration. #Letmehelpyoutaketheleap. Read more →
